About Cool Car Drawing

"Everything happens for a reason!"

My name is Arturs, and I come from Riga, Latvia.

Saying in title is one of the phrases that I've lived by since high school and I stand by it every day!

I grew up in small town, and as far as I can remember, I’ve always been interested in and loved technical things, art, and building projects. Nothing in my life was related to cars or similar things, but for some reason, as soon as I started drawing I preferred to draw specifically cars over anything else.

Later in life, I stopped drawing entirely because of work and other interests, but the spark to draw was always there, even if it never turned into something more.

In 2021, a turning point came in my everyday life. A sprained ankle and the circumstances at the time made me realize that I wanted to do something I truly enjoyed. I saw the opportunity and took it—I went to an art supply shop, bought some inexpensive markers and pencils, and started drawing again. I rediscovered my love for automotive art, dusted off my sketch pad and pencils, and immersed myself in my passion. I couldn’t have been happier! I even created my Instagram account, @coolcardrawing, and uploaded my first drawings. Little did I know what would come next…

The whole purpose of the Instagram account was, and still is, to share my passion with others. At first, I was very doubtful about the whole idea because I thought no one would even look at my posts or be interested in what I was doing. But as I posted more, I realized that people enjoyed my art and were genuinely interested in this hobby. Then, out of nowhere, I made my first sale—to Australia! That sale set everything in motion.

To be honest, I truly believe that spraining my ankle was the push I needed to start all of this, and that’s why I live by this saying!

FROM DRAWING TABLE TO EXHIBITIONS!

In 2022, I decided that I wanted to do more with my art than just share it with my Instagram followers. To be honest, the constant changes in social media and its algorithms pushed me to explore live exhibitions and reach new people and connections.

It all started with a table, a chair, and a few of my artworks at my first live art exhibition. It was at the JDM LV car meet in Riga, and I was super nervous about how people would react. This was something new for me and for the car culture here in the Baltics. I’m generally a very shy and introverted person, so this was both scary and exciting. But the overwhelming amount of amazing feedback and positive words made me fall in love with the experience, and I started looking for more car events in Latvia. Huge thanks to the JDM LV crew for believing in me and allowing a young guy like me to come and exhibit his artwork at a car meet!

Since then, I’ve participated in many events across Latvia, Lithuania, Estonia, and Finland, and I plan to attend even more car events in other countries! Some of the most memorable events I’ve attended include Fitted Fest in Finland (2023 and 2024), AUTO 23 Exhibition in Riga, GP Drift Masters 22 in Riga, the American Beauty Show 23 in Estonia, and many more.

These events have helped me create new friendships and connections, and they've shown me people's passion for both cars and my art, all in one place. It still brings a huge smile to my face when visitors tell me they love my art—it encourages me to keep going!

FROM MARKERS TO PIXELS AND MORE...

I create unique automotive drawings and digital car illustrations, specializing in various types of vehicles and custom-made orders for car owners worldwide. Everything, from the artwork itself—whether drawings or posters—to the materials I use (markers, pens, pencils) and even the packaging in which the artwork is shipped, is of the highest quality. I take pride in precision and attention to every detail. I combine a realistic approach with different techniques and premium materials to ensure that every commissioned piece or design that leaves my drawing table is a beautiful masterpiece! It’s important to me because I need to be satisfied with my work before the customer can be happy.

Nearly three years in, my original and digital art has been shipped to many parts of the world—Japan, the USA, New Zealand, Australia, Hawaii, and all across Europe—with a 100% customer satisfaction rate!

I would describe myself as a perfectionist. I’m extremely technical and detail-oriented, aiming to reproduce every line and shape of the car on paper so I can fill it with colors, highlights, and shadows. The complex shapes of cars create fascinating reflections and shadows, which I enjoy capturing in my work. With every stroke, the drawing becomes more realistic and comes to life on the page.

But my journey doesn’t stop there! Recently, I launched my first keychain lineup, stickers, and other products to bring my drawings into new forms. My skills in digital programs like Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop have allowed me to create even more items that people around the world enjoy. You can see more of this on my Instagram profile!

ENJOY THE MOMENT!

Since this is a more a hobby than job for me, I can’t say for sure what the future holds for this “business.” I plan to attend as many car events as possible throughout 2025 and 2026, and I have more ideas for expanding my hobby. No matter what I choose to do in the future, drawing cars—and creativity in general—will always remain close to my heart. It’s my biggest passion, and I know I’ll never stop drawing for the rest of my life! For now, I’m focused on living in the moment and enjoying life as it unfolds!

Stay tuned and see you around petrolheads and art lovers! ;)
